Hello guys, I just registered to the forums and I've been reading for a few weeks on these forums all I can learn about these motorized bikes. I got my kit from a guy in California and my bike is not Idling well, it always wants to rev up even at a stop-light, I pull the clutch and vroooooommmmmm its reving right up.
I have grown used to killing it at every light, but its annoying to have to get it going again after every light.
I checked the little pin inside the carb and its seated right and seems to be working well, I am thinking it is the throttle cable, perhaps it is too short to work on my bike properly. I have no problem with swapping out the cable if thats the issue, but is there a way to see if that is indeed the problem? Like... some other way to test the throttle cable or my Idle?

Gudday Matt (this may help)take the air cleaner off so you can see inside the carbi.note where the needle is sitting with engine off turn throttle so that you can visually see the needle move up and when you release the throttle note where it rests if it is the same you can rule out cable problems.Now move to the idle screw-remove and clean does it feel notchy(use your nail)if alls good refit-check for sloppiness, if the screw feels nice and snug(no up down left or right movement)you may want to check all seals! And last of all check the fuel metering needle in the fuel bowl check for wear and float level,this may help you !! best of luck!

Check the cable adjuster at the top of the carb, it should not be used to adjust idle. It should have a 1/16" of freeplay between the cablwe outer and the adjustment part. Also, the screw on the side of the carb is for idle speed, not mixture....

what did you end up finding out about this mine is doing the same thing. When i pull in the clutch it revs up. Which way do i turn the screw for idle speed to go lower?

You turn the screw out or "loosen" it to lower the idle. You may also want to check where it goes into the top of the carb. You want to screw that IN or "tighten" it until there is just perceivable play in the cable housing.

I tried both of those but I cant seem to get any play in the cable. When I twist the throttle there is tension from the very beginning of the twist. I went out for a ride again this morning but it was doing the same thing. The screw on the outside didnt seem to help the idle speed but that could be because there is tension in the throttle causing it to always have some throttle. If that is the case what do i need to do to get some slack in the throttle cable?

O.K. You may have a little work to do, but nothing big.
Remove the cable from the carb. Unhook ANY and ALL zip ties, ect holding the cable to the bike. Confirm the cable/throttle operate freely and correctly. Replace cable as needed, lube generously before re-installation.
If it does not, remove the cable from the throttle control and confirm that the throttle control is operating properly. (take it apart and look for "flash" or extra plastic where it shouldn't be, not allowing the throttle to rotate back to off all the way.) Also check just the cable to confirm smooth easy operation- it should not bind at all.
If it works properly re-install it, directly to the carb and confirm proper operation. Gently attatch it to the bike.

I checked the throttle everything is good there it works well. When i go to place the cable in the plastic piece and set it. It feels like i have to put tension on the cable. Should it be like that? Or should it be a little loose in the throttle housing with some play in the cable. Right now there is no play at all.I am trying to avoid taking apart the throttle assembly because i dont know much about it.

What better way to get to know your bike than to take it apart? The throttle is only three pieces. The cable should go into the twist grip part just by placing the cable in it.
Look closely at the part you are putting the cable in, and the black plastic parts as well. Is there some plastic "flash" getting in the way? Is there a reason the throttle doesn't operate smoothly? Look very closely, you may find some that needs a little trimming.
Finally, sometimes the slide just doesn't fit right in the carb and won't go all the way down. If you take the carb off, remove the slide/spring/ect, and replace the slide in the carb, does it go all the way down? Does it bind and not work smoothly? Check those.

I was doing some tuning on the bike and took it for a short ride and felt something hiting my leg lok down and its black liquid. I checked the engine and it was coming from the front right side of the head gasket so I tried to tighten that bolt and stripped the threads on it. Is there any kind of warranty on the engine for that? What do I need to fix it?

How long have you had the engine? You may need to contact the seller directly.
You shouldn't have tightened down one bolt....you should have loosened them all then retorqued them in a cross pattern.

Yeah I did it wrong then i tightened them in a square pattern. I bought the kit from spooky tooth so I emailed Roland to see what my options are... I can still get it tight do you think I can add some gasket thickness to it with this sealer i have that way it would be compressed?
