Hi Tones!

The 50T sprocket will take you 20-25mph. The 44T sprocket will take you 25-30mph. The 36T speed sprocket will take you 35-40mph. Realize that as you decrease top speed you increase low end power, and vice versa.

Happy will attest to this, all of the top five race participants in Death Race 2007 had 36T speed sprockets. That mountain course went from 3,000 feet to 9,000 feet in a span of 24 miles.

These engines seem to like the higher gearing of the 36T too. They run much smoother and vibrate less. If you are under 200+ lbs and have little or no hills, definitely get the 36T.

When I get Chain's for my motorcycle's we use a guage size, (#35,#50,#41,#420, ect.) If the chain on our motorized Bike's is 1/2 X 1/8, What gauge size is it? I think it is #35, but I can't seem to find anywhere how to determine that. Does anybody know? Thank's.

I think I found it, should be #43 chain size, If anybody know's this to be wrong please let me know Thank's.

Oh man....I had that info at one time, but to complicate things I think it was a #415.

415 size chains are 1/2" pitch - the distance from center of one pin to the center of the next pin. The rollers are 3/16" wide - inner chain width, and about 7/16" in total width.

I know several sizes will work half assed.

Yep, #42 is #415.

Doublecheck your measurements before buying anything though.

Thank's for the link Joe, just what I was looking for Thank You.

alanb, I know those guy's at Spark's, they are all right. Dave W. was co-owner a few year's back dont know if he still is. You can also try: Bearing Belt and Chain Inc. 430 W. 22nd Street 85713 (520)792-1231. They have alway's had what I'm looking for and very helpful.

For you guy's here in Tucson: Just wanted to let you know about Bicas if you dont know already. They have lot's of used bicycle part's very cheap. The people are a little strange, too much of the green stuff I think. But they are very nice.
