BJ and all that read my threads ....

Thought I'd start a new thread over here and get off the Tech Help section. This is a older step through that I bought for $20 at Sales Galore on HWY 64 ... a state wide string of yard sales all along HWY 64 that usually runs Thursday through Sunday in the month of August .... I don't know what my plans for this little number are. I've got to get a good look at the frame and all to see if it's worth the effort first. I'll welcome any ideas! I'll get it painted, so on and so on ....

Looks like a good candidate for a rack mount.

Are you suggesting an gas powered or Electric?

I've been thinking of taking another route with this one. Hopefully with all off the shelf parts ... carbon fiber air tank ... just working the throatle issues in my head and and wondering how hard it would be to refit nossle tips and so on ... compressed air ... clean, refill in minutes, less electricity used in a recharge/refill. Just a thought ....

WOW...that is thinking outside the box.

I'd look into compressed air motors- they have been around a long time and the tech is current last I knew. Great idea!

Was reading a site were two guys took an old propane grill sized can and filled it with air and then used an air powered drill with chuck for a friction based model. They were riding together and were getting about a minute worth of ride per fill up.

Lots of no-no type stuff with this idea. The main one is that propane bottle/can will burst if punctured and be a bomb of sorts or a missle if the regulator gets knocked off in a crash.

Pretty sure the carbon based air tank will hold up better to a puncture ... may still have missle effect if the regulator gets knocked off. So far haven't fund a 4500 under $580! Not sure I like friction based idea either. I'm thinking another form of drive chain linked motor would be better. Haven't looked up the air powered motors yet. This may end up being more research than I'm willing to put into it. And may cost more than is practical for an alternate means of transportation. Plus I've got a few Q on the life of the carbon based cans.

MERCY ... my heads hurtin' ...
