hello everyone!! 2008/04/22 15:44 Karma: 0
hello all! I've been riding my bike in tucson for about a solid year now, and figured its time for an upgrade!! My grandpa had an old moped when i was a kid and i loved it, and after doing a litte research on the net, i found this site! Its a shame you dont have a shop in tucson anymore! But anyways, i just got a few of the basic questions, Whats the best way to go? Buy a motor and put on my current bike myself? get an electric hybrid? Maybe a good ol' gas powered one? And the big question...and i've already done some research on the subject...What are the laws for these MB's here in tucson or arizona for that matter? any help would be greatly appreciated...and i hope to make my first MB purchase a spooky tooth bike! thanks again!!

Sam

Welcome Sam to the forum, glad to have you with us.

Arizona law: No insurance,no title,no registration. Speed limit of 20mph. The Tucson City council came close to banning MB's here in Tucson. But Thank's to Roland we can ride free of regulation's, unlike other states. Oh, you have to have a 48cc or smaller. I have a 80cc but the cop's can not tell. I got mine way before they passed the 48cc law.

As far as a electric or a motorized bike, I think you would have to decide how far do you ride? I think for short trip's a electric bike would work great. I have never used a electric bike so I dont know to much about them.

To buy a motorized bike or just a kit? I find just as much enjoyment to build my motorized bike, but that's my personal opinion. It doesnt take too much know how to put one of these bikes together. And if you need a hand, we are all here to help you out. Whether you buy a complete bike or just a kit, you will have lot's of fun riding a motorized bike.
