I wasn't actually suggesting greasing the sidewall, the chain will do it for you.

BUT- if you go with this size tire, and the sidewall does get greased, I would suggest using a silicone based grease onthe chain as it will be easier on the tire in the long run.

How tight are you running the chain? Should have around 3/4" of play at the tightest point.

Using a straight edge from top, there is about 3/4" concave. After I posted that reply, I realized that wasn't what you meant. @ 1am it sounded like a solid recommendation.lol.

3/4" each way is a bit much, 3/4" one way or the other is perfect.

Our retail store/shop is in Bisbee, Arizona and we are here pretty much all the time for anyone to stop by and hang out with us.

The best resource to check out what we do and/or can do is the website.

We have free delivery to Tucson and the surrounding southeastern Arizona area for fully assembled motorized bicycles gas or electric.

hey, great place to meet like minded bike riders I hope around the Tucson area and beyond. It seems like more folks here are MORE real, than some where I've seen where every body walks on eggshells to look and sound "right" or 'PC' I don't have time for that.

I have a bike Roland's Tucson shop built up for me just before moving out to Bisbee, Thanks to them for the help and getting me set up with such a cool ride.

Since getting the cruiser on the road new Profile three piece BMX cranks, sealed BB, Down Hill Mt. Bike stem, 3.5 shocks up front, V brake on front wheel, 90 pounder tires, 36 tooth speed sprocket 1 gallon tank, almost every part that can be changed has been, only original parts are the frame, motor, even the wheels have been upgraded to better wheels than what came with it.

so much fun it should be illegal, OH IT IS, almost.

Welcome Alan- not too much activity here.....

Maybe 'cause everybody is out riding instead of playing komputer kowboy kop, or talking about riding.

Yeah, the motto here should be "just shuddup an' ride!" since that seems to be what people do, or don't do here (post much).

Hello from Southern California!

Name's Chris and I've started a Schwinn build with a generic 2 stroke kit. FUN! (See my post in the tech forum...)

Looking forward to finishing the bike and to hearing from any of you.

Take it easy!

I am new to the motorized bike scene and can use all the help I can get. First of all, I'm not sure how to use the forum, so bare with me. To Biker-Joe I ask you this. Are you familiar with the Whopper Stopper 49cc 4 stroke engine? If so how does it compare to an 80cc 2 stroke. What are the pro's and con's of these two motor's I have a greenline qurve bike that I'm getting set up to the way I like it, but my engine is going to be last, for I need to research any info I can get. I'm from Illinois, retired and going through my second childhood, being's my first wasn't all that great. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

While not overly familiar with the 4 stroke Whopper, I have read that it had some early gearbox problems (fixed?) and is very wide compaired to the two stroke 80cc.

I can't imagine it has anywhere near the power, but should be smoooooth and there's no replacement for that four stroke sound.

I would suggest you mount it, enjoy it, and if you find it's not your cup of tea, you may find someone who is willing to trade for a two stroke engine.

BTW- the 80cc engines are really closer to a 70cc but then that's the wonder of the advertising world I guess.

Now, once you get it going, PLEASE feel free to give us a full review of that bad dog would ya'?

Welcome Panhead, I also have heard that the Whopper Stopper had issue's with the gearbox. Something to do with the engager.

But, I have a friend in Nevada with one and he say's it's great. Last I heard he had over 2300 miles with no problems. Say's it will do 35mph easily and that it get's better mileage then the two-stroke. He also told me that it has alot more low-end torque then the two-stroke.

I am a recovering welder in Gaines County Texas. I have 2 Dimension Edge Scrubber drives on 27 inch bikes and another friction drive on a Cannondale. I also have a 82 FLH and have owned every type of Harleys from a 38 61 ci knuck 45's a flat head sportster, New sporster , pand and my 82 Shovel. I missed the RUB era of Harley and found motorized bicycles this summer. THEY ARE FUN!!! Sure they have other uses and having lived in Tucson for almost 2 years recently, I have a signature at Chaco's on Craycroft, I see the future of these little jewels. I look forward to the new design Roland has and keeping technology in the US. I would love to slap a 47CC Tanaka on one of these gearboxes. The LE community is, shall I say somewhat more tolerant of these machines. My local friendly Texas DPS officer has pulled me over just to look at the bike. I live 8 miles from town and I have nto caught any flack from anyone. Even some of the LE who knows my past history. I guess it is something about a large 50 year old shaved headed guy blasting down the highway that tends to disarm LE. I feel your pain in the old Pueblo as I had two run ins with LE while there and I am one straight citizen(now). So glad to be here. I frequent another motorized bike forum and hope to contribute what little I know.
Peace

Welcome guys! Feel free to ask questions and contribute pictures too.

Been having some heart problems and haven't been around here much lately...got to go have some more tests done to try to figure out what's going on. I've always been healthy and recently lost 25 pounds, go figure!
