I need a new chain idler or tensioner, but this site doesn't have one listed for sale. Does anyone know of a reliable site that sells them? I also need a new carburator cover and screw to hold it on.

How do I remove the clutch disk?
I have the initial nut and star-shaped washers out but can't get the large diskgear off. Suggestions for removal?

There is a screw in the middle of the clutch disk after you take the star off. It should be visible with the star on. Once you take the screw out, it should come right off.

Thanks, I got it off.
It seems as though everyone that sells parts is out of stock currently.
There must be a reason for that, cheap Chinese metal.
I'm really disappointed, this thing ran for exactly a month...lubricated gears and no sign of slipping occured until the failure. Just suddenly heard a loud knock and then a loss of power. I pedaled home and removed the cover and a pile of metal shavings fell to the floor. There it was: a catastrophic failure and a gear completely sheared of all it's teeth. Any ideas?

I'm a little surprised that the gear gave it up that quick....I've run three so far, two with almost a thousand and the only gear problem was one was a little whiney. I lubed it with lithium grease and it's still fine.

I did clean out the gear area of two of the kits with brake cleaner when they were still new and unmounted, then lubed the gears from day one.

We have clutch main pinion gears and larger clutch gears here at my shop. Call us if you want one. You will also need a freewheel puller special tool. All this is maybe $15

If ya'll haven't seen this, you may want to. When I was importing Skyhawk engines, Grube sent this out. It is now hosted on our website for reference whenever people want.

Allright, I need a lesson on MB 2-stroke motors.

How do these motors run without a reed valve or rotary valves? I always was told all 2-strokes have reed valves.

Reed Valves

They draw the mixture into the crank case when the piston goes up, when it comes down the mix is forced through the bypass ports into the cylinder. Very old technology, but it works and is simple and effective.
Reed valves make for a more efficient, cleaner burning two stroke.
Class dismissed!

Thank's Joe, So the piston covering and uncovering the ports does the job. So that's why the crankcase is sealed, forms part of the induction.
