Tucson Mt. Scenic Route 2007/11/01 01:19 Karma: 4
The route on a Sunday afternoon that I like to take is West on Speedway, through Gates Pass. Right (West) on North Kinney Rd., pass Desert Sonora Museum. Follow Kinney Rd. to Ranger Station Red Hills. Then just pass Ranger Station about a mile, turn right on Bajada Loop, which is a dirt road. You will come to Golden Gate Rd., if you go left (West) a few miles down the road is a picnic area right side of road (North). They have a cool little hiking trail that will take you to some American Indian hieroglyphic's, cool to check out.
Then go back the way you came to Bajada Loop. Keep going East on Golden Gate Rd. You will come out of the beautiful desert at Pictures Rock Rd. Turn Right (East) on Picture Rocks, it will turn into Ina and you will end up at Ina and Silverbell. I go South on Silverbell back to the city. I'll be sure to take some photo's next time.

Hieroglyphics from picnic area. Ther are alot of rocks with all kinds of cool carving's. On the other side of the Mountain in back ground is Tucson.

That is a nice route! Roland and I used to cruise out that way when the shop was on Saint Mary's. It's really cool to ride out there on the full moon.

I live at picture rocks, and so far the best ride has been from here out to Old Tucson, Kinney roads, throught the park past gates end up at ajo way, then I eat some where and rest and then roll back I will have to pull off at those rest area to check it out, but I just love to roll in that area.

If all goes well I will be rolling out there this weekend some time.

mini rally with a loop around the park?

this sat. can't go ride, wife working, me on baby watch till sunday.

next sat. plans, if wife's work don't makes her come in.

So ; sundays after 12pm , have a central meet point in town, or near the area we plan to ROLL ROUND gather some where to around 2pm- 2:30 pm then go ride till dark and back to home base, look like the days to go.

ANYONE: know where to get small trailer to haul 2-3 bikes behind car, cheap, not so new or pretty?

For support, chase, drop off and recovery of bikes during up coming planned races, rallys, road ride events. I will have a car on hand for this duty now I need to get a trailer and plan some rides.

some body mentioned a BISBEE rally, I would do that with lots of prior notice to line up baby sitter work time off...... after the 1st of the YEAR we should all plan an invasion of Bisbee with MOTOR BIKE!
