Mounting a motor to an Electra Stright Eight 2008/01/23 17:27 Karma: 0
I`m new to the idea of motorizing a cruser. I bought this Electra stright eight ( same bike as my avitar)..2 years ago. Not the bike to ride if you live in the hills.
I bought a kit last Thursday. It arrived yesterday. Any help or thoughts on what lies ahead of me. I think the thickness of the frame itself may be a problem, for mounting the motor. any suggestions would be wonderful!
Thanks!!

As long as it fits in the area where it's supposed to, you should have no trouble mounting it.

There are some extra parts for mounting one up where there is oversized tubing and there are also other ways to get around it.

Don't believe the directions that come with the kit that say 2 hours- you'll go mad.

Figure 6-8 hours for a good quality installation.
