Motor-Bicycle Engine Kit Installation>Tech Support 2008/03/11 23:51 Karma: 12
Hi everybody. This is your cult leader Roland. I found a new service called Voice Thread which has helped me to implement better motorized bicycle engine technical installation help for our customers.

Take a look at a page I made for help on installing a kill switch. Be sure to turn your speakers on.

http://voicethread.com/share/76025/

I have a wealth of knowledge bouncing around in my pea brain. We have built possibly thousands of motorized bicycles over the last 4 years and serviced hundreds of engines along with standard bicycle repairs.

If anyone would like me to make a Voice Thread for a particular subject relating to either repair, maintenance, installation, or high-performance tuning, please let me know. Our goal is to provide our community with all the information you need to maintain and ride your bikes for years on end.

Give me a topic, I'll make an instruction page.

Cheers, Roland

Roland,
Hey this is Drew in Boulde, CO. I would love it if you could set one of those up for tuning. My bike is running great, I think, but it would be nice to know where the best settings would be with regards to the idle speed, and the position of the throtle cable in comparison to the carb. Let me know if this is possble, thanks

Roland, I think one on just general maintanece would be good. Adjusting the chain, showing which bolt's and nuts to check for looseness. Mixing the fuel, I get alot of people worried about mixing the oil with fuel. Checking the plug and gap, checking wheel bearing's and how to adjust them, adjust the throttle cable, checking motor mount bolts. Lubeing the chain, thing's like that. That's my two cent's.

Oh, and alot of people seem to want to buy a kit and install it themself but are unsure if they can do it. I know that all frames are diferent and one installation is not the same as the other. But maybe a quick review on intalling a kit my help them decide.

OMG I just watched your voice-over video there posted above. Me and TONS of novices like me would LOVE to see a guide that shows the following:

Which bolts on the bike will never be moved for adjustment (So we know where to use Red Locktite and where to not use it) and also what bolts to watch and make sure they stay tight, in your video you could go even farther and describe what torque the bolts should be (if this is useful)

Cant PM you it seems, hope you read this! I'd LOVE for a tune-up / general maitenance guide.

Hope to see it very soon and keep up the awesome work!
