I started out looking for an electric/hybrid bicycle to help me climb hills at age 69. But when I saw the motorized bicycles at this site, I thought this might be more fun; even though I have never owned one before. I spent the afternoon trying to find out the OH registration policy. The answer seems to depend on who I talk to. I did find out that anything over 50 cc or 20 mph is classified as a motorcycle. Under this limit it appears to be lumped into the same category as mopeds, which require registration and an operator license that is different from the normal driver's license. The real kicker is that it must be on a list of "Ohio approved vehicles" in order to register it. Now I'm trying to decide whether to go through this hassle or just take a chance and hope I don't get stopped.
