Hiya there - Texas here, too...Im curious about your bike, 'cause I'm considering buying the same one. Have you received it yet? What are your thoughts? It's so tempting, cause the bike is so nice-lookin, but first I'm trying to get a grip on how "reliable" these motors are. I'd love to hear your opinions before I take the plunge...

hey, cant answer your question, but i was curious, have you gotten one of the motorized bikes, and if you have, how long have you had and have you had any issues with the law. i oredered a bike from here a few days ago, im in college station, and im just hoping for the best.

i have had my bike for about a month and a half. it took me about 2 weeks just breaking it in. not ti mention i was literately driving it all the time. on 10 min. off 30. i have not had any any problems with the law. they just look at me in astonishment. if they do give you a hassle tell them its a 40cc. here is a post from another thread.

About potential legal issues here in Texas.... There are rules for "mopeds" and "motor assisted bicycles" on the Texas Dept. of Public Safety and the Texas Dept of Transportation websites. Then there are rules in the City of Austin codes about helmets and rider behavior AAaandd, the City has a rebate program for purchase of new electric cars scooters and bikes (but not gas "assisted"). I just got off the pjone with the city "311" (City info desk), and the guy suggested going with the DPS rules, since the local gendarmes "might" think better of rules published by a Law Enforcement agency. What, did ya think it was going to be SIMPLE???
