Hi angel, i went through the same thing when i first built my bike. I built an 80cc kulana cruiser. I have to work on getting pictures up to show u in an easier and more understandable way, but i will try. 1. what you stated, that was said about the mixture screw is very true, it helps alot with performance and a clean steady ride. so, the mixture screw is located on the side of the carberator, all it is, is a little screw with a gold spring around it.(the carberator is nearest to your frame pipe that leads down from your seat post), it also has the air filter attached to it, if standard(black circular plastic with a few downward facing air outlet holes. the easiest way to find it (if u hav no idea what it is) is to follow your feul line down from your gas tank. where your plastic gas tube ends, and is attached to, is your carburator. Once you locate the carberator and the little screw, turn the screw all the way down(righty-tighty)until you cant turn it anymore without using to much force. Now, turn the screw(lefty-loosy)four full turns. Like all the manuals say, do this about every 5 hours, or when you notice its to far out. Doing this will help keep your bike in good running order and make ur engine run smooth without jumps. 2. In my experinace the best way to speed up your bikes performance without buying a lesser tooth sprocket, or buying a cone HP air filter, is to very carefully ajust the exhaust flow from your engine through your exhaust pipe. What u could do (what i did) is to remove you baffle from your exhaust pipe and trim it down, and/or add holes to the inner pipe. Make sure you always have or leave one of the disks up in the pipe because the engine always needs some type of back pressure, or else your engine could break down. To do this start by drilling one or two holes into the lower part of your exhaust pipe, or you can also shorten the krimped cylemder on the baffle. I will try to figure out my new camera and get some step by step pics on how to modify and tune up your bike. I have done many things to my 80cc bike, from adding upgraded parts, such as hp air filter, custom exhaust, 36T rear sprocket, front shocks, and all kind of crazy self expirementation. And so far my bike runs really well. I get about 170 miles to the gallon, and have reached a top speed of 45mph. These bikes are a blast, and perfect for a college kid like me that dosnt hav the money for a car. It gets me were i need to go and saves me alot of time and money. I hope this post helps, and i am here if you ever need any further help, as well as alot of people on this forum. You can also reach me at southerlin22@comcast.net, since i come on spooky tooth only about twice a week. Good luck and be safe. -brandon.
