Lower End Bearings 2006/12/06 20:58 Karma: 0
Have you had any issues w/ the lower end needle bearings and how have you dealt w/ them? I have had some problems with two of my engines lunching the bearings and locking up shortly after break in. I'm working on pouring a babbit bearing replacement and should learn shortly if this is a way to go, if the weather here in Kansas will cooperate.- Edward

The solid babbit bearing seems to be working so far. After a new exhaust and muffler is made, I will undertake more testing.

Curious about your new exhaust and muffler. The stock muffler for me is too loud and short. Can you describe your new design and possible cost.

I would like to here more about the bottom end failures....of the hundreds of these, from different sellers, I have knowledge of running, I've heard of one failure besides yours.

What type/size engines were these? How were you running them when they failed? High speed? High load? What fuel mix ratio? Finally, what type of two stroke oil were you using?
