I ride mine like a maniac and the only issues I have had are loose spokes and a bent to beyond repair back wheel!!!
My ride to work in my car is about 30 to 40 minutes with normal traffic, on the bike it is right at an hour regardless of the auto traffic. The car has taken more than an hour if there is a wreck, which occurs at least once a week..I save 8 dollars a day and only have to wake up 20 minutes earlier riding the bike.

The clutch also started slipping at around the 3000 mile mark..

My bike is dirty and ratted out and runs like a scalded dog(even with the clutch slipping on acceleration)...32.4 mph with my 215lbs on it, of course it sounded like it was going to explode at that speed so now I ride at and average of 18 with rarely going past 21 or so..I have a little computerized speedo that keeps tabs on all that information...10 dollars at walmart.
I am going to upgrade to the 80cc as soon as this little 49er gives up the ghost and even then I may do a rebuild and mount it on something else..

These little bikes rule the road....I am in Melbourne Florida.

How did your wheel get damaged?

Sounds like a blast..I am ready (almost) to place my order...what model did you get and what size rear sprocket do you have that lets you obtain those speeds with the 48 cc motor?

I caught a curb and it pitched me sideways into a spectacular powerslide...I recovered but when I got all straightened out the back rim wasn't..It was warped so badly I had to disconect the rear break to ride home..I will add that every one should get a spoke tightener tool and stay on top of keeping all the spokes tight. The pull of the motor works pretty hard on the back wheel and loosens the spokes (at least mine did)..I'm 43 and I flashback to my youth of BMX and dirtbikes when I ride this thing...I tend to ride pretty aggressively....

A clutch slipping problem can be quickly cured by removing the cover and spraying some brake cleaner in where the "pucks" are.

Also, if you remove the little screw, and turn the flower, or "star" nut one turn CLOCKWISE you will get a little more spring pressure.

Thanks for the update BTW.
