After last weeks incident of sudden loss of power, I thought I might share a pix of a new head gasket next to one that was over-torqued.
This should show newbies why NOT to over torque them...
Obviously, in the thinner metal, the gasses blow out the thin side, instead of sending that power to the piston.
Even today, a picture is worth a thousand words...
I hope this helps you all building your kits.
The SpookyTooth bike I built is the most fun I have had in a long time! (almost as good as a new camera or a bigger lens...) Don

Don here. I live in Mesa, AZ. Been in Arizona for 5 years now, before that, 28 years in St. Petersburg, FL as official photographer for the City of St. Pete.
Many motorcycles but this is my first bike since I was 15. This bike is my new photography platform. I bought a trailer for it.

Joe, Nope! I do not have but 19 miles on the bike yet. I posted it to show NOT to overtorque the bolts when ya build it.

I bought the 48cc kit. I torqued the front right head bolt too tight. THIS time, I used a torque wrench. Spooky recommends 5 foot-lbs.
