In many states, the speed limit for gas and electric motorized bicycles (before you must have registration, license and insurance) is 20 miles per hour. Our gas powered motorized bicycles are very strong and capable of being fast. For motor vehicle standards, their emissions are clean. They get at least 150 miles per gallon. On a half gallon tank, the gas powered motorized bicycle can drive 75 miles before you need to refill the tank. They are 2 cycle engines, meaning that their lubrication is carried in the premixed gasoline. If you travel too great of a distance, there is a possibility of damaging the engine. We generally only recommend our gas powered cycles for short trips up to 30 miles at a time. An understanding of mechanics, basic nuts and bolts, will be necessary. Follow the maintenance guidelines and learn to troubleshoot, i.e. securely snug 3 areas around the engine to ensure that gaskets do not leak, adjust the chain and cable tensions. When the engine is broken in properly, engine life expectancy is somewhere around 10,000 miles. All of our motorized bicycles are set up like motorcycles. The clutch is on the left, throttle and front brake on the right and the rear brake is actuated by a pedal backwards coaster brake. 2-into-1 brake levers are installed on all multi-speed bikes. Pull in the clutch, pedal up to 5 or 6 mph and let the clutch out, the engine kicks right in. There is a choke for cold starting and handlebar mounted kill switch for stopping. If you would like to pedal freely without the engine, pull in the clutch and press the locking-pin. These are not centrifugal clutches, they are friction type dry clutches with serviceable and adjustable clutch pads and plates. Sizing for the LowRider Cantilever Tube Frame- Our LowRider frame is a near perfect reproduction of the early Schwinn cantilever tube boys' frame. The LowRider cruiser is the basis for our Bare Bones, Dresser, Chopper, & Black Racer. LowRider components are strong yet heavy; a characteristic we can afford with such a strong engine. Because the frame is available as an individual component, Spooky Tooth Cycles will occasionally do "frame-up" builds, like the Black Racer. These instances would be where we press in the headset and bottom bracket races, set the chainring and Ashtabula crank, cut the fork to length, etc. We always welcome custom bike build ideas, and this is one reason why. - Frame Size = 18.5"

The Bare Bones, Dresser, Chopper, and Black Racer will best fit a person from 5'2" to 6'0". If the rider is 5'8" to 6'6", we recommend purchasing a bent seat post . Added comfort for taller riders, try an Apehanger. The 15" Apes are surprisingly comfortable and very easy to maneuver.
Unassembled Do It Yourself (DIY) Kit - $575 Get to know your bike from the ground up. Allow us to design a custom package for your new motorized bicycle. This will ensure a complete parts compatibility without the need to search for extra components. You supply the labor and tools, we supply the parts. From Nylock nuts to fuel filters and heavy duty inner tubes, we put together an all inclusive package just the way we would build it in our shop. All parts are guaranteed against manufacturers defects. Please read our on-line tutorials to know if this is the right motorized bicycle option for you. Fully Assembled & Tested - $725 The most reliable option to ensure a properly running motorized bicycle. We take great pride in the detail of our craftsmanship... and it shows. Unfortunately shipping a fully assembled motorized bicycle can cost as much as shipping a full size motorcycle so we have to break a motorized bicycle down a bit to provide a more affordable shipping rate. We will ship a fully assembled motorized bicycle in 2 different boxes through FedEx Ground. First we carefully strap the handlebars and attached neckstem to the side of the bicycle frame with all cables attached. Next we take off the front wheel, pedals, seat, seat post, and gas tank. The large bicycle box will contain most of the motorized bicycle and the gas tank (not attached) minus the remaining parts listed before. The smaller box will contain the front wheel, fenders, and all other accessories.
