In many states, the speed limit for gas and electric motorized bicycles (before you must have registration, license and insurance) is 20 miles per hour. Our gas powered motorized bicycles are very strong and capable of being fast. For motor vehicle standards, their emissions are clean. They get at least 150 miles per gallon. On a half gallon tank, the gas powered motorized bicycle can drive 75 miles before you need to refill the tank. They are 2 cycle engines, meaning that their lubrication is carried in the premixed gasoline. If you travel too great of a distance, there is a possibility of damaging the engine. We generally only recommend our gas powered cycles for short trips up to 30 miles at a time.

An understanding of mechanics, basic nuts and bolts, will be necessary. Follow the maintenance guidelines and learn to troubleshoot, i.e. securely snug 3 areas around the engine to ensure that gaskets do not leak, adjust the chain and cable tensions. When the engine is broken in properly, engine life expectancy is somewhere around 10,000 miles. Engine gaskets, oil seals, crankshaft needle bearings, rings, and all other service parts are available through us. If you need technical help, please call. We are available Monday through Saturday at 866-243-4552.

Starting:
All of our motorized bicycles are set up like motorcycles. The clutch is on the left, throttle and front brake on the right and the rear brake is actuated by a pedal backwards coaster brake. 2-into-1 brake levers are installed on all multi-speed bikes. Pull in the clutch, pedal up to 5 or 6 mph and let the clutch out, the engine kicks right in. There is a choke for cold starting and handlebar mounted kill switch for stopping. If you would like to pedal freely without the engine, pull in the clutch and press the locking-pin. These are not centrifugal clutches, they are friction type dry clutches with serviceable and adjustable clutch pads and plates.

For added safety, all of our bikes are available with optional front Shimano Linear Pull Brakes installed ($40)

Partial Assembly $75 -

Frame prepared, engine prepared with torque specs and gasket sealer, engine mounted, rear coaster prepared, rear drive sprocket mounted, chain cut, chain tensioner installed, chain line adjusted, control cables cut, handlebar drilled for throttle.

Fully Assembled & Tested $150 -

The most reliable option to ensure a properly running and tuned engine and motorized bicycle. We take great pride in the detail of our craftsmanship... and it shows. Unfortunately for our out of state customers, shipping a complete motorized bicycle can cost as much as shipping a full size motorcycle. For shipping purposes, we will carefully strap the handlebars and attached neckstem to the side of the frame with all cables attached, pedals will come off, seat and seat post will come off, the gas tank will come off, and the front wheel, fenders, and any additional accessories will arrive in a seperate box.

I have the Violation, I like the frame, very sturdy and it looks good. It is a long frame so it works well with the set back handlebars included. Get the partial assembly option, it saves a lot of time. With a little adjustment, the Shimano linear pull brakes work very good, excellent stopping power. rnrnOne thing I would do different is get the 7 speed option (Qurve model?) because the single speed gearing on the Violation is a little high, you have to stand up on the pedals to get it going at first. This is mainly a problem at busy intersections, the traffic doesn't like to wait for you. Once you are moving it purrs along very nice, about 30mph with the 36t sprocket. This seems to be a good all around sprocket size, it starts pulling at about 5mph and pulls really good at 10mph and above. It can handle moderate to steep hills if you pedal along. It is pretty difficult to get started from a stop on a steep hill, which is partly caused by the high (pedal) gear. If you had the multispeed bike, you could start easier from a stop and also pedal along at higher speeds which is pretty fun and good exercise.rnrnI also would like different handlebar grips, but that is not a big deal. You will have to do some basic motor and bike maintenance, like adjusting the chain tensioner (often), greasing the gears, checking the screws, maybe make an adjustment to the carb. But the motor and bike are pretty simple, just take your time and don't lose any parts.rnrnThis is a great deal to get started with a motor-bike. A lot of fun for not a lot of money.
